“SONG FOR EWE”
“SONG FOR EWE” is the feature where artists & music people beloved by VELVET SHEEP choose an obscure song they’ve been listening to that day. Today’s guest is someone to keep both eyes or ii’s on… She’s based in Margate, a Velvet Sheep stomping ground, and is on the Death Waltz Originals label set up by Spencer Hickman (formerly Rough Trade shop, now Transmission Records, Margate).
Death Waltz started out to reissue brilliantly packaged OSTs from classic horror/thrillers, and now here’s someone else to make you jump (and shout), a self-producing, DIY punk ethic, otherworldly aesthetic artiste whose electronic music appeals to me like Lykke Li, Grimes or Olivia Neutron-John and yet is speaking a whole new musical language that’s sweet like chocolate, intoxicating like strychnine. About to support ex Cibo Matto/Gorillaz now New Optimism’s Miho Hatori who’s also recently been on these pages. Welcome to VS, welcome to the world BABii
With Adrian Sherwood (On-U Sound) at the controls, BABii’s debut album ‘HiiDE’ which features “Phantom” is out early in 2019 and is primarily concerned with themes of “hiding and secrets” (it also seems that BABii is a very prolific songwriter who has been hiding or HiiDING if you will tuneage all over the web). But what is her secret song choice? Without further ado, it’s over to BABii for her pleasingly cartoonish and madcap “song for ewe”…

*•.¸,¤°´✿.。.:* I heard this in a TV show and thought it was the most chaotic thing I had ever heard!
It’s really messy and playful and complex and wild and I don’t understand why the universe is so lucky for this to of ever happened. This shouldn’t exist! *.:。.✿`°¤,¸.•*´
THANKS TO BABii AND TO FRANKIE AT STEREO SANCTITY PR
