Imperial Wax by Elmore

Imperial Wax is the new band of the last and longest serving line-up of The Fall: battle-hardened messrs Dave Spurr, Pete Greenway and Keiron Melling plus lean as a whippet Sam Curran from newish punk band Black Pudding. Velvet Sheep are already massive fans of their street brawling garage rockabilly noise leanings and we strongly recommend you check them out with your own eyes and ears at a venue near you in the lead up to their toughnut debut album “Gastwerk Saboteurs”:

Thursday 30th May Huddersfield, The Parish
Friday 31st May Manchester, Night People
Sunday 2nd June Brighton, Prince Albert
Monday 3rd June – Bristol, Rough Trade
Thursday 6 June London, The Islington
Friday 7th June Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
Thursday 13th June Glasgow, Broadcast
Friday 14th June Newcastle, Think Tank? Underground

Velvet Sheep is also pleased as punch to host the UK premiere of what we think is the nexus of the album, a sure to be live favourite and future classic, “Rammy Taxi Illuminati”. Redolent of epic Fall moments as played by top notch triptych Spurr/Greenway/Melling like “Auto Chip” with the snarling bite of “Wolf Kidult Man”, you will not be disappointed. False endings, broad shouldered bass breakdowns, psych wigouts, muscular drums, a guitar line that’s not just channel hopping it’s genre hopping, tons of bile and bite in a high register from a snarling yet soaring vocalist plus the insane unhinged ramblings of a nutty conspiracist taxi driver from Ramsbottom (Gtr Manchester) – what’s not to love!??

“Gastwerk Saboteurs” is out on 17th May on Saustex Records…

Cheers to Mark Noredindian, Lauren At Rarely Unable and the band.
