“SONG FOR EWE” is the feature where artists & music people beloved by VELVET SHEEP choose an obscure song they’ve been listening to that day. Today’s guest fronts a Malmo based post punk / dark pop band called True Moon.

Recently nominated for best rock album at the Manifestgalan awards (kind of an alternative Grammies), True Moon are reminiscent of Dum Dums, Joy Division and Siouxie & The Banshees and their visceral singer has a voice that’s beyond powerful, and unfaltering (she recently tracked their entire album in 90 mins). Welcome to VS, Karolina Engdahl!

True Moon’s debut album of the same name is out on Lövely Records on April 28th.

Here’s a taster from said record…produced by True Moon guitarist Jari Haapaleinen (Ed Harcourt & The (International) Noise Conspiracy)…

True Moon – Sugar

And it’s properly back to the old school for Karolina’s song choice, so without further ado…

“The Sisters of Mercy – Temple of Love

Recently I’ve started to listen to this song again, it reminds me of a time when you were too young to do anything, and everything was a big adventure.

My best friend, Bettan, used to listen to this song all the time. Back then when we snuck out to smoke someone’s leftover cigarettes and drink ouzo from some vacation in Crete, anyway, it makes me happy and nostalgic and I love it.”

THANKS TO KAROLINA, AND TO DAVE AT DIVISION PROMOTIONS
