“— In 2017 I started going to see this band in Boston called Possum. They’re a folk/country band with several members; they’re one of those very few bands (like the Mekons or Queens of The Stone Age circa 2004) (neither of whom they resemble) who have several great lead singers. Possum has 5 excellent singers, all quite different from one another, so I’d describe them as ‘endlessly entertaining’.”

The protest against institutional racism and police brutality all over the US this week are encouraging to me because the participants are so young and so racially mixed. Maybe this is the generation that can turn the tide.”

“Stewart Lee curated a show at the South Bank and had us play, and we asked Vic to play, too. He wrote this song for us to do together, which took forever to organise, but has finally happened. Our old friend Jon Langford did the cover and we recorded the single at Leamington Spa with John Rivers, who did the Swell Maps records.”
